David John Oates David John Oates the founder of reverse speech. Hypnotherapist and Trainer,
and accomplished public speaker and author, of "A New Theory About
Language." Oates' claim is that, on average, once in every 15–20
seconds of casual conversation a person produces two related sentences
a "forward-spoken" message that is heard consciously, and a "backwards"
message unconsciously embedded in the person's speech. These two modes
of speech, forward and backward, are supposedly dependent upon each
other and form an integral part of human communication. In the dynamics
of interpersonal communication both modes of speech combine to
communicate the total psyche of the person, conscious as well as
unconscious. Oates claims that backward speech is always honest and
reveals the truth about the speaker's intentions and motivations. The
most famous recording that allegedly demonstrates this is the speech
given by Neil Armstrong at the time of the first manned lunar landing
on 20 July 1969. If played backwards, the words "small step for man"
sound somewhat like "Man will space walk."

Your mind wants it there so it hears it, which in the realm of reverse
speech is in-fact good enough... Though it is obviously not in the slowed down segments. Rethinking David Oates' Theories on Reverse Speech.by Mike Schmitt
The examples below are reversed segments of
complete gibberish, born from the knowledge that even babies speak
forwards in reverse. The speaker wasn't thinking of anything in
particular and wasn't speaking in any known language or dialect. Before
reversing the segments, you could say he was speaking in tongue, or
gibberish. The segments recorded appear to reflect upon World War II,
though the subject was too young to be reflecting on memories of the
war considering he was born much later during the Vietnam Conflict...
Below are the Audio Segments...
- A wolf — I became a wolf.mp3
- Adolf Hitler in the roses — Nazi standing in Rome.mp3
- All for nothing all this pessimism and you feel nothing.mp3
- Hey Mr. Vato Cosovich of the Nazi's list thereof, is that there with me Young Martin the safe house.mp3
- On the outside is a war, please deliver from this tyranny.mp3
- Rome is their own business stay their own business, the system is zero, the army is zero, Rome without Hitler is, their
army is zero.mp3
Oates' claim that, in every conversation a person
produces two related sentences a "forward-spoken" message that is heard
consciously, and a "backwards" message unconsciously embedded in the
person's speech. The segments above were specifically taken from
gibberish meaning there was no such forward speech to relate to. Oates'
claim that the dynamics of both modes of this communication combine to
communicate the total psyche of the person, conscious and unconscious.
Unless the speaker in the segments above was relating to a past life
(of which may be the case) though as was stated prior he was born
during the conflict in Vietnam, then of course this could communicate
the total psyche of this person, conscious as well as unconscious.
Notice the dialect and the phrasing always in English the segments
above I can't quite place it to a particular place or time but this
person often has at other times spoken backward in an East Indian
Dialect as well as this European dialect. My point is he has
never traveled to any of these places let alone spent enough time there
to pick up a particular dialect other than a few English dialects.
Oates' claim that backward speech is always honest and reveals the
truth about the speaker's intentions and motivations. If Oates is right
and reverse speech is always honest and reveals the truth about the
speaker's intentions and motivations, then I ask you what are the
intentions and motivations of the speaker in the segments above... The
truth is there is more to reverse speech than Oates has claimed, the
unconscious mind in my opinion is infinite, and in this realm I believe
one can glimpse into the past as well as the future. There is no doubt
the value and potential that reverse speech can bring to this human
conversation. Perhaps it is not just a tool for diagnosis and
investigations anymore although as I believe much more research is
needed before we can fully understand what we are dealing with.
